Experimenting with beeswax...

This is something I have never done before, or ever even heard about until a couple of weeks ago. So I decided to try it and play with it a little bit...was having fun, and, voila! It turned into a collage! It seems to me that most of the things I like the best are things that I had no intention of making! So the first picture is of the whole thing. The other pictures are details.

I started out just layering stuff and putting stuff on the paper, then I poured wax all over it. Then I took my little heating tool and melted off the excess wax, leaving more in some places than in others...then just continued along the same path...adding things and wax, then removing it, and on and on...just playing, basically.

Now, I know my pictures are not the greatest! I seriously need help with lighting! But, from what you can see of my 'stuff', please let me know what you think.

I really like how soft the colors look through the beeswax. Happy art accidents somehow make the best art. I think! (from a fellow AW blogger)

VERY cool! I've always been curious to try that. I just got a heating tool for Christmas, so maybe now is the time. Where do you buy the wax? Love your work!

Artsy Mama-I either got the wax at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Can't remember which one...it's the first time I've ever bought it but I do know it was one of those.

Thanks for the comments everyone!
