Well, I tried to make these pendants...I bought the silver 'base' and just put together my own 'insides', then covered it all with Diamond Glaze. I really like the way the Diamond Glaze came out! It looks like old glass. Kinda wavy. Not totally plain and smooth like new glass. BUT...it altered the inside!
First, on the Frida one, it changed the color of the paper on the bottom from a beautiful red to black. Which pretty much blended in with the little letters I cut out to spell 'Frida'. Also, you can see through her picture where I folded it over to fit. That space straight down the middle? There is nothing under it...no paper or anything, so it looks different than the folded over sides.
The other one I made for Allison. Her nick name is Alli, and lots of her friends call her Alli Cat, so I did the cat and glued little cut out letters to the hat that spelled Alli-get it? Alli, cat=AlliCat? Yeah, yeah, yeah...whatever! lol! Anyway, the hat was a very bright pink and, although you can still see the Alli, you can also see what's through the other side.
So...now I know that when you put the Diamond Glaze on, it's basically like soaking it in water...although I really don't get how that red paper with the gold polka-dots turned black. Also, it was separated from Frida by a strip of black and white gingham plaid. It really looked good, if I do say so myself! I'll definitely make some more...hopefully I can perfect it.

I think these look GREAT!!!!
Lauri, these really do look great. I had the same thing happen to me (more than once). Try to mist the papers with some Fixative before you put the glaze on. It should stop the bleeding.
Thanks, Zorana! Great tip!
Very, very cool! I love them!
lauri, they're gorgeous! i'd totally love to be able to do that!
