2 Works in Progress and 1 Finished Apron

Decided I really need to start using up some scraps, so, I'm working on these 2 Log Cabin style pillows. I know they don't really 'flow' like a real Log Cabin style...but I'm just going for color. Although...no matter how hard I try, I cannot start a Log Cabin block without the red center square! lol! It's weird...I don't worry about following rules any other time...but this block must start with red!

So, here's one...
And here's the other.... Since I've taken these pictures, I have actually already finished hand quilting the one above. Haven't started on the blue one, yet.

And, voila! A finished project! An apron for a friend...this is all out of scraps I have also. The bottom blue part is divided into 3 pockets, and the top band is a row of patchworked squares of the fabrics used in the rest of the apron, with a couple of green squares thrown in. And although you can't see them, the ties are made out of the yellow fabric...I think. I've already sent it to her, so I can't check for sure, and I don't remember! lol! But, they are either yellow or the main white fabric with the birds on it.

I love that you always put a red center square! How cool! And I love your goddess lady!

I really like the patchwork band - very fun and interesting. So you HAND quilt your stuff? I'm impressed! I don't think I'd ever finish a project if I needed to hand quilt it!

Yes...I hand quilt. I feel like I'm cheating if I machine quilt...I've tried it a few times and wasn't too thrilled with the results. Unless it's something really small-like the quilted purse-it's just too hard to keep everything even and straight...too bulky.

However, my new machine is a Bernina with the BSR thing...but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. Still gotta take that class, and I'm running out of time!
