I'm so jealous...

Of everyone who got to go to the Quilt Show in Houston!

But, I'd take being with my mom over that anyday, and proved it this weekend! Saturday we did something I've been wanting to do since we moved into this house...plant some flowers! It was a GORGEOUS day, so off to Lowe's for flowers and dirt. I got lots of little purple pansies, which I love, and some....ummmmmmmmmm...very dark pink/almost red something or others (I'm so not good with plant names. I'm lucky I know the difference between an Oak tree and a Pine tree.)

Planting flowers with 3 kids is hard work. I can only dig one hole at a time, but they don't seem to realize that. Why didn't God make mothers with 8 arms like an Octopus???

However, we didn't get quite enough dirt. No lie, there is only about 1 inch of dirt on the ground before you hit limestone, so we only got a little over halfway done. I sent Steven back to Lowe's on Sunday for more dirt, and he also picked up more flowers for another little bed at the bottom of the driveway...these are some little tiny white ones that are so cute, and some kind of red ones. I think that bed will look very Christmasy!

I also pulled out 2 dead green, non flowering, plants that I had managed to kill somehow. But you know that's not unusual. I killed a cactus in the middle of a drought.

But then the weather turned cold and icky...it's getting down into the 50's at night, and only into the 60's during the day and, since I don't want to freeze to death, I'm going to wait until it warms up a little to get back out there again. Which, normal Texas weather style, will probably be tomorrow, Thursday at the latest. I did take 'Before' pictures, which I will be sure to put up with the 'After' pictures when I'm done.

As for sewing work...I managed to make a purse this weekend, and finishing up a pincushion and some pins today. I'm also still working on my little laundry room 'embroidery quiltlets', for lack of a better name. Yikes! I've got to get my camera out for pictures of those! Oh-and don't even get me started on Halloween! lol!

It seems so strange to hear you talking about planting flowers at this time of year, LOL.

I live in North Dakota, and there is definitely NO flower planting going on here.

I can't wait to see the pics! No pressure, but I'm sitting here waiting. Just waiting. La la la la... waiting. Did I say no pressure? I lied. :-p
