What I'm doing today...

Trying my hand at dyeing muslin with Kool-Aid. This first picture is grape with "a glug" (as someone said on their blog that I read yesterday...I am so sorry I am so awful at remembering who and where I see this stuff! If you recognize this, let me know and I would be more than happy to give you full credit!) anyway, a "glug" of vinegar and some water. I think I may have used too much water in this one for the really dark purple color, but that's ok...

...because it came out lavender, like this, and really turned out beautifully!

For this one I used Cherry Kool-Aid, vinegar and water. Just not very much water, and you can see how much darker it came out.

In the end, my hands looked like this! lol! Wonder how long that takes to wear off...lol! But that's ok, because Ethan and Claire both declared that I am a "wonderful cook!". rofl! Should I make them eat it??? lol!

If my hands looked like that it would scare me everytime I looked at them! Do they at least smell good? Dyeing muslin sounds like such a great idea. I have tea-dyed some fabric before - I love the way that turns out. The red turned out beautifully. Well, the lavender did too, but I REALLY like the red. :o)
